BBOG Group Mourns Death Of Member On Kaduna-Abuja Expressway

The #BringBackOurGirls group yesterday, mourned the passing away of one of its members, Sani Mubaraka, who died along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway. Speaking at the group’s sit-out yesterday, the vice chairman of Chibok community in Abuja and a member of the BBOG group, Nkeki Mutah described the late Mubaraka, who is from Kogi State as an easy going person, who fought for the rescue of the Chibok girls till the end. He however, called on the federal government to ensure that the Chibok girls are rescued as this would serve as consolation for all those who lost their lives fighting for Chibok girls. “There are patriots who lost their lives to ensure peace. We have lost people in this struggle. Let’s continue to ask for the return of the Chibok girls because that is the greatest tribute we can pay for the people that have lost their lives in this struggle. She was virtous, amiable and patriotic. She was a humble person and we pray she rest on the bosoom of the Lord. “We wish that one or two Chibok girls she had advocated for were rescued. It is rather painful. We want our government to do something about our roads. It is unfortunate that we have lost so many through road accidents. This can be reduced. We urgently need the government to reconstruct our roads. “This is the type of thing that bad governance has done to the citizens of Nigeria. Corruption is the root of all the problem we have in this country. I am sure money have been appropriated to reconstruct the road. But the road is still the way it was for years. She had stood up for something. There is something eternal that her name has been attached to. She lived for a worthy cause. She stood up for the voice of the voiceless.” The group further called on the federal government to ensure that the roads are well built, with signs and less pot holes. Recall that the group had lost one of its staunch member and strong advocate, Elvis Iyorngurum who died on 14 October 2015, at Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi. Iyorngurum’s death coincided with exactly 18 months since over 200 schoolgirls of Government Secondary School, Chibok were abducted from their school by terrorists.
